Everyone's got a story. I'd rather tell those than my own, but if I must...
I'm a freelance journalist and radio producer based in Richmond, Virginia.
I came to journalism by way of national politics after writing about the Women's March in January, 2017.
My educational background is in Middle Eastern politics and the Arabic language, which I studied intensively in Oman.
I grew up in the Mid-Atlantic, but I've done stints in New York, Tampa Bay, and Houston, where I covered gender, race, food, agriculture and the political threads that tie it all together.
The world is too fascinating for me to be a
one-beat reporter, but these days I'm focused on civil rights, housing, transportation and history.
